Primarily intended for expedition use, the pants are the perfect match for our Bering jacket. Together, they represent a strong and versatile alternative to a union suit.

Three separate compartments are placed on the upper panel between the legs, allowing 'a bit of bridging' at 24,000 ft without the risk of the pants ripping apart.

With reinforced seat, knees and lower leg, the pants will stand the abuse of expedition life. Fully separating side zippers let you vent or suit up without removing footwear or other clothing. The drop seat lets you answer calls of nature without removing suspenders. In front, a spacious, zippered outside pocket is available for maps and other essentials. The external draw cord secures easy adjustment. The Baffin pants are the workhorse of any lineup of expedition gear.

No less than 32 individual compartments keep the down in place. We’ve added extra down to the shoulders: the higher density ensures that weight (pull) from pockets is equalized and down isolation is maintained. A full double zipper system backed by an internal, down-filled storm flap effectively shuts out gale force winds and snow, keeping warmth where it belongs. There are multiple adjustments to keep your travels comfortable: draw cords in the collar, waist and hem. The cuffs adjust with Velcro, and as an extra, the tube containing the waist draw cord is down-filled.

The detachable semi-tunnel hood secures with a zipper and a broad band of Velcro. It’s fully adjustable with both an inner draw cord and Velcro on the outside. Furthermore, the brim has been stiffened, giving it a cap-like feature to add protection against driving snow.

Combining the technical know-how of Valandré with the best down in the world, this union suit will let you focus on the summit and help keep you warm on the way up.

Based upon a classical 32 H-box wall construction membrane, the Combi is totally protected by a third layer of coated and DWR treated super strong 100% Japanese Polyamide. Hence, all baffle stitches are totally protected, letting no cold wind pass the stitches and no heat loss.

In an endless array of features, the Combi expresses the professional knowledge and Valandre’s 'core' involvement in the Himalayan movement. A fun game where NO mistakes are allowed.

An internal gaiter with gripper elastic goes over climbing boots. Our construction lets you reach up or do the splits without inhibition or fabric failure and cling. Elasticized waist is backed by a wide 4-cm elastic band that runs across 3/4 of the body, with an external adjustable elastic draw cord and elasticized cuffs at the sleeves and legs. You’ll find one inside zippered pocket and one outside at the thigh for a map.

The detachable semi-tunnel hood secures with both snaps and a broad band of Velcro. It’s fully adjustable with both an inner draw cord and Velcro on the outside. Furthermore, the brim has been stiffened, giving it a cap-like feature to add protection against driving snow.

Valandre has turned the drop seat into a masterpiece of fabric. It is constructed with two straight zippers, at a 90° angle that form a triangular shape that easily opens up. Some may think, that a single zipper placed in a bow may work better. But zippers are designed and engineered, to work in a straight line, and bowing a zipper offers an excelent chance for it to break down.

These compartments keep the down in place and keep you warm. Then, we eliminated the connection seam at the shoulder by designing a single piece of fabric from the front to the back. By removing the connection seam at the shoulder, we removed the main point that water leaks into jackets. Valandre Oural Mitts

When your hands are frozen solid, opposable thumbs aren't that much of an advantage. Our Oural mittens secure your position at the top of the tool-making mammal list by keeping your fingers warm and functioning.

A simple design, the Oural incorporates three individual chambers in each mitt to keep the 1.8 oz (50 g) of down in place. The reinforced palm protects the mitt from the use and abuse of expedition life, while the draw cord closure seals out wind and snow.

Valandre Split S Jacket

'La haute couture Française', infused with technology: The result, Valandré’s Split-S jacket. The Split-S is a jacket born from mountain expeditions and perfectly comfortable in the fashion centers of the world.

Built on a technological foundation earned from years of making expedition gear, the Split-S represents a leap forward in down jacket technology.

To start, we mimicked the natural bend of the human elbow, and cut the fabric of the sleeve to follow. This makes for a more comfortable fit and removes any creases that may compress the down.

The area between the arm and torso typically suffers from the arms motion pushing the down away from the torso and inner sleeve - Valandré solved this by adding two vertical compartments on the body side and three on the inner sleeve. These compartments keep the down in place and keep you warm.

We eliminated the connection seam at the shoulder by designing a single piece of fabric from the front to the back. By removing this connection seam, we removed the main point where water leaks into jackets.

All curves and stitches, are perfectly alligned, adding harmony and perfection to the style. And the Split-S was form fitted into a mens and womens version.

And finally, at the top of the jacket, the fully zipped high collar moulds perfectly around your neck, providing duvet-like comfort.
